Step-by-Step Guide

1. Verifying Medical Aid Details

Navigate to the medical aid section from the main dashboard by clicking on patients link on the sidebar. On the patients section select the Billing button of the patient.

Then click on the Submit a Medical Aid Claim button

Select an invoice type (procedure or consultation)

Select a payment method (Medical Aid, cash, bank transfare, debit/credit card)

The Patient Billing module streamlines the invoicing and claim submission process, ensuring accurate financial transactions between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies. It includes essential functionalities such as Invoice Type, allowing providers to categorize bills appropriately, and Payment Method, which specifies how the patient or insurer will settle the charges. The module facilitates claim submissions through the Submit Claim option, ensuring timely reimbursement. Healthcare professionals can associate claims with a Referral Provider, searching for providers by Provider Number or Provider Name to maintain accurate records. Tariff Codes are integrated to standardize billing by linking specific medical procedures or services with predefined rates, enhancing consistency and compliance with healthcare regulations. Users can also enter ICD Codes, ensuring proper classification of diagnoses for insurance processing. The module displays a Subtotal and Total in US dollars, reflecting the cost breakdown before finalizing the claim. The navigation options, such as Go Back, Previous, and Next, allow for seamless movement within the billing workflow, improving efficiency for medical administrators and ensuring smooth financial transactions for patients.
